Shenandoah University senior Mairead McKibbin has been named the 2025 recipient of the Marjorie Berkley Award, marking the third time in four years a Shenandoah student-athlete has earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's highest academic and athletic honor. McKibbin, a standout on the field hockey team, joins Olivia Weinel (2022) and teammate Elise Velasquez (2023) as Shenandoah's three Berkley Award recipients. The honor recognizes the ODAC's top female senior scholar-athlete across all sports.

Shenandoah University has announced the winners of the 2025 Shenandoah University Research Expo (SURE), which took place on April 29-30 in Hazel-Pruitt Armory on SU's main campus. With 72 submissions, representing both graduate and undergraduate programs, and everything from creative projects to empirical research, the students' hard work was on full display.

Shenandoah University held its First-Year Seminar Awards ceremony on Dec. 5 to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of FYS faculty, mentors and students. Each year, winners are announced for the Gabriella Miller First-Year Student Award, the Timothy Doak Mentor Leadership Award, and the Teaching Excellence Award.

Shenandoah University women's cross country student-athletes Makenna Thrush, Maddy Chorney, and Amy Oleksy earned All-Academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while SU's men's and women's programs were recognized collectively in awards announced by the organization on Jan. 30. Of the three student-athletes to claim the All-Academic award, Thrush and Chroney each have a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA and Oleksy has a career GPA of 3.52.

Shenandoah University's men's basketball program was a recipient of the 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, while student-athletes Davion Roberts and Gavin Bizyak were named to the NABC Honors Court.

Shenandoah University's men's and women's track and field programs earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team awards, while Tucker Kindig, Andre Jackson, Wyatt Newcome and Kaitlin Measell were recognized with individual honors.

Shenandoah University's women's volleyball team is a recipient of the 2023 USMC/AVCA Academic Team Award.

Shenandoah University had a school-record 291 student-athletes named Academic All-ODAC, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced. Student-athletes who posted at least a 3.25 GPA for the 2021-22 academic year were recognized for the honor. All 21 eligible intercollegiate athletic programs at SU had at least one student-athlete selected, and the Hornets ranked second in the 15-team conference in total honorees. Baseball and football led Shenandoah athletics with 45 Academic All-ODAC selections each, while women's golf posted a perfect mark with all seven of its members earning the honor. Thirteen Shenandoah teams had at least 10 members earn Academic All-ODAC accolades.
