The Shenandoah University indoor track & field teams added two more All-Americans to its annals on March 10-11 at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, as graduate student Tucker Kindig (weight throw) and senior Miles Moore (200-meter dash) each achieved the honor.

The Shenandoah University men's and women's indoor track & field teams had five athletes earn a total of six All-Region honors for the 2022-23 season in selections announced by the USTFCCCA. Earning the honors were Tucker Kindig (shot put and weight throws), William Crowder (60 meters), Miles Moore (200 meters), Kiara Felston (weight throw) and Kaitlin Measell (long jump).

Shenandoah University's field hockey team earned a National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Team Award. The NFHCA honors all of its teams, by division, that earn at least a 3.5 team GPA during the fall semester.

Shenandoah University women's basketball players Madisen Kimble, Kayla Maxson, Zoe Star and Gabby Krystofiak were named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators. All four are now candidates for Academic All-America.

Ben Burgan and Keyshawn Wilder lead the quartet with first team honors, while Rashadeen Byrd Jr. and Mason Caldwell both grabbed second team accolades.

Shenandoah University sophomore Nathan Yared has earned All-State second team honors in selections announced by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association. Yared is the first player in program history to earn VaSID All-State honors.

Shenandoah University field hockey players Mairead Mckibbin and Kelsey Jones were selected to the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-American Teams, the association recently announced. Mckibbin earned second team All-America honors while Jones was selected to the third team.

Graduate students Ethan Bigbee and Mason Caldwell, senior Andre Jackson, juniors Ethan Brown, David Munoz and Noah Temme, and sophomore Steven Hugney are now candidates for Academic All-America.

Shenandoah University volleyball junior Jillian Warter was named Academic All-District in selections announced recently by the College Sports Communicators. Warter, a psychology student with a 3.82 GPA and a three-time All-ODAC honoree, is now a candidate for Academic All-America. To be eligible for Academic All-America, nominees must have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and played in 50 percent of the team's contests.

Shenandoah University field hockey players Kelsey Jones, Mairead Mckibbin and Elise Velasquez earned All-Region honors in selections announced recently by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Jones, a graduate student, and Mckibbin, a sophomore, were both named first team All-Region VI, while Velasquez, a junior, was named to the second team.

Ethan Bigbee, Ethan Brown, Dominic Gulli, Scott Martin, David Munoz, and Carter Runyon earned second team accolades, while Matt Conroy, Steven Hugney, Quante Redd and Jordan Rice were third team selections.

Yared, a forward and a Springfield, Virginia, native, becomes the first SU men's soccer player to be named first team All-ODAC.

Shenandoah University women's soccer players Jordan Haack, Elizabeth McGee and Karissa Dominick were named 2022 Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators and are now candidates for Academic All-America. Haack, McGee and Dominick, who helped the Hornets to an 11-win season and a spot in the ODAC tournament semifinals, have an average GPA of 3.80, with Haack leading the way at 3.96. To be eligible for Academic All-America, nominees must have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and must have played in 50% of their team's contests. The Academic All-America ballot is voted on by athletic communications professionals across the nation, and the AAA team will be announced in December.

The defending ODAC champion Shenandoah University baseball team has named 13 players to its 2022-23 leadership council. Frankie Ritter has been named as the team's captain in a vote of the 2023 squad, with Gavin Horning and Reilly Owen voted as co-captains. The class representatives are as follows: Class of 2023: Kooper Anderson, Jacob Faivre Class of 2024: Andrew Falk, Jeremy Kwolek Class of 2025: Grady Dillon, Brian Ferreira Class of 2026: Kyle Garrett, Luke Keister, Jaime Padilla, Ricky Snyder

Two Shenandoah University women's soccer players have been selected to the 2022 All-ODAC teams, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Junior Elizabeth McGee has been selected to the All-ODAC second team and sophomore Chandler Gallant represents the Hornets on the third team.

Shenandoah University's field hockey team had nine players named to the 2022 All-ODAC squad, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday, Nov. 8. SU's honorees are headlined by Offensive Player of the Year Mairead Mckibbin and Defensive Player of the Year Elise Velasquez. Cassidy Morrison and Kelsey Jones joined Mckibbin and Velasquez on the All-ODAC first team. Lauren Tyre, Farren Winter and Taylor Swann were second-team honorees, and Claudia Lenahan and Madison Short were named to the third team.

Three Shenandoah University women's lacrosse players earned All-State honors in selections announced Thursday afternoon by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors Association. Alyson Bittinger '21 headlines the trio by earning her fifth accolade from the association being named first team All-State for the second year in a row. The IWLCA All-American was named VaSID Rookie of the Year in 2018, was named to the second team as a sophomore in addition to being named Academic All-State. Rising senior attacker Emma Stiffler, along with defender Madison Re, were voted to the second team to round out their post-season awards.

Shenandoah University junior volleyball player Jillian Warter has earned 2022 All-ODAC honors for volleyball in selections announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference on Sunday, Nov. 6. Warter, an outside hitter, earned All-ODAC accolades for the third consecutive year after leading Shenandoah in kills, kills per set, and sets played. This season, she is a second team All-ODAC honoree after being a third team selection in both 2020 and 2021.

Five Shenandoah University baseball players earned All-State honors in selections announced Wednesday afternoon by the Virginia State Sports Information Directors Association. Rising junior Colby Martin headlines this quintet by earning Player of the Year accolades. Martin, who has three seasons of eligibility remaining, caps an outstanding year in which he was previously named as the league Player of the Year by the ODAC and South Region Player of the Year by both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Keegan Woolford '20, '22 MBA and rising senior Pearce Bucher join Martin on the first team All-State with their selections at first and third base, respectively. Bucher's classmates, Frankie Ritter and Tad Dean, round out the honorees with second team honors. Ritter was picked at shortstop and Dean as a starting pitcher.

Eight Shenandoah University student-athletes earned VaSID All-State honors for outdoor track in selections announced recently by the organization. Six those athletes: William Crowder, John Kindig, Kaitlin Measell, Emily Miller, Miles Moore, and Jason White, were selected for individual events. Andre Jackson and Langston McCatty complete the honorees by joining with Crowder and Moore to form the first team All-State 4 x 100 meter relay team.

Alyson Bittinger '21 has been named third team All-America in selections announced Monday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Bittinger, a four-year starter for Coach Lindsey Lutz' women's lacrosse and a three-time All-ODAC honoree, is the first women's lacrosse player in program history to be named All-America. The Westminster, Maryland native led the Hornets this season with 64 goals and five assists for 69 points. She was named as the IWLCA National Player of the Week one time and earned ODAC PoW accolades on Apr. 25 after scoring 10 goals in a 22-12 regular season finale victory over Lynchburg.

Freshman Colby Martin has been named as a first team All-America by D3baseball.com in selections announced Wednesday morning by the website. Martin, a second baseman, is the 13th player in program history to earn either playing or academic All-America honors and the first since Keegan Woolford '20, '21 earned the accolade in 2018.

Shenandoah University had four baseball players named All-South Region in selections announced Tuesday morning by D3baseball.com. Freshman Colby Martin headlines this quartet by earning South Region Player of the Year honors. Martin, a second baseman/relief pitcher, is the first SU player to be named region PoY since Michael Paul '15 in 2014. Pearce Bucher, Frankie Ritter, and Keegan Woolford join Martin in earning All-Region accolades with Bucher and Ritter both named to the first team. Woolford, now a three-time All-Region honoree, was a third team pick at first base.

Junior Maiya Pencile has been named ODAC Player of the Week for women's soccer in selections announced Tuesday, March 9, by the league office. Pencile, from Chester, had five goals last week as the Hornets defeated Randolph-Macon, 4-1, and lost at Roanoke, 4-3. In the Macon contest, Pencile had a natural hat trick with goals in the 28th, 32nd and 56th minutes. Pencile currently leads SU with six goals for 12 points through three games. This is her first ODAC weekly honor - in 2019 she was named third team All-ODAC.

Senior Elijah Morton has qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the 60-meter dash. Morton is the first male in Shenandoah University track & field program history to qualify for the national championships. The 2020 Indoor Championships are held March 13-14 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
